Popular veteran Afro-beat artist, Segun Bucknor is dead. He died yesterday, August 11 after suffering from stroke which he has been managing for a while now.
Before his death, the late Bucknor was bedridden and could barely talk or walk to the extent, fellow musician, Yinka Ayefele offered to buy him an electric wheelchair.
He was aged 71.
Late Segun Bucknor was a jazz and Afro pop artist in his early days who started his musical career under the tutelage of highlife singer, Roy Chicago and later became leader of the band called the Soul Assembly.
He is survived by his children among whom are popular event manager, Funke Bucknor-Obrithe and broadcaster, Tosyn Bucknor.
